GWNF recently announced that it will resume forest management planning, with public comment and meetings to inform the 15-year management plan beginning this spring.
After a federal court decision suspended planning in July of 2009, GWNF announced in late December that it would resume planning under different federal planning guidelines. SVN is hopeful that, under this revised planning process, the Forest can better address our members' prioirities-- like protection of drinking water sources and limits on industrial wind development projects. A new round of public comment and meetings will begin in the spring of 2010.
